Dr. Alex Meininger
Alexander K. Meininger, MD is a Board Certified, Sports Medicine Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Denver native. He is the Managing Partner in the prestigious Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute since 2018 and has practiced in Steamboat Springs, Colorado since 2012. His clinical interests include sports injuries of the knee, shoulder, and hip – such as ACL, meniscus, and knee cartilage injuries; as well as rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations, and hip labral surgery.

Sports Medicine
Dr. Meininger has pursued additional training and carries a Certificate of Added Qualification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He emphasizes injury prevention and his skills include state-of-the-art, minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Joint Replacement
Joint replacements are a common means to reduce pain and restore function. Dr. Alex and his team practice advanced techniques such as minimal incisions, anterior hip surgery and reverse shoulder replacements.
